2006 Cadillac DTS Presidential Limousine 1/43 scale
The 1/43 scale diecast model of the 2006 Cadillac DTS Presidential Limousine that was used primarily during the Bush administration. This was introduced at the inauguration after President George W Bush won the election to stay for a second term in office. Note that the current president, Barack Obama, still use this limousine from time to time even though he has the 2009 model. The Obama administration however uses this 2006 model mainly as a secondary limo and is notably used for most of his overseas trips by the president while on foreign soil. On home soil, he uses the new primary limo, which is the custom made 2009 Cadillac DTS Limousine. Other times however, he switches to the 2006 model while visiting other states in the US.

Nashville's Sedan Drivers Fight City Effort To Run Them Off the Road
Until 2010, sedan and independent limo services were an affordable alternative to taxicabs. A trip to the airport only cost $25. But in June 2010, the Metropolitan County Council passed a series of anti-competitive regulations requested by the Tennessee Livery Association-a trade group formed by expensive limousine companies. These regulations force sedan and independent limo companies to increase their fares to $45 minimum. The regulations also prohibit limo and sedan companies from using leased vehicles, require them to dispatch only from their place of business, require them to wait a minimum of 15 minutes before picking up a customer and forbid them from parking or waiting for customers at hotels or bars. And, in January 2012, companies will have to take all vehicles off the road if they are more than seven years old for a sedan or SUV or more than ten years old for a limousine. These regulations have nothing to do with public safety. Nashville could have limited its requirements to those regulations that are designed to genuinely protect the public's health and safety, such as requiring insured and inspected vehicles, and driver background checks, but instead, Nashville is stooping to economic protectionism to put affordable car services out of business in favor of more expensive services that happen to have more political power. 1952/56 CHRYSLER "Imperial Parade Phaeton" Used by President Dwight D. Eisenhower In 1952 Chrysler supplied custom-built Parade Phaetons to New York, Los Angeles, and Detroit for transporting dignitaries in parades and other special events. Built on extended Crown Imperial chassis, all three returned to Chrysler in 1955 to be updated with new 1956 "Forward Look" styling. Their striking appearance and frequent use by high-profile celebrities gained important exposure that enhanced the prestige of their production cars. Although the White House used this car, the Federal government was prevented from taking title because of its policy not to accept gifts. As a result, Chrysler retained the phaeton and it became known as "The Detroit Car" because of where it was housed when not in service. Frequently used by President Eisenhower, it was sold out of the Chrysler motor pool in approximately 1970 and today is the only one of the original three that is privately owned. The other two are still owned and used by the Cities of New York and Los Angeles. The car is currently (03/15/08) on display at the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA.
