AMTRAK TRAIN #6 FROM TRUCKEE TO RENO
In this end of series, from Truckee to Reno, the Califonia Zephyr , we stick to the right side for all new scenes that cover the south slope of the Truckee with some good looking flats to start, a little more Boca, the slopes of the Martis Fire near Floriston, and a look back at the hills just before entering Reno.

Traveling On The Amtrak Adirondack
Come along with Green Rail Productions as we take a trip on Amtrak train # 69 The Adirondack. We will be taking the train from Schenectady to Saratoga Springs, NY. I arrived at the Schenectady train station early enough to see the Amtrak Maple Leaf departing the station. I did not get a chance to see what number was on the P42DC. Shortly after the Maple Leaf I happened to catch Norfolk Southern Industrial train 23K which was coming off of the Delaware & Hudson Line (D&H) which is owned by Canadian Pacific Railway. Norfolk Southern C44-9W # 8910 Union Pacific C45ACCTE # 5261 Finally the Amtrak Adirondack arrives. Running 45 minutes late. The reason for the delay is becuase of problen with one of the Amfleet Coaches in New York Penn Station. AMTK P42DC # 170 Amfleet I Coach Amfleet I Coach Amfleet I Coach Amfleet I Cafe Amfleet II Coach Amfleet II Coach When the passengers are getting on we can hear the conductor say "You got to go folks, we have to make up time." I rode in Amfleet I Coach # 82663. It did not work out as well as I would have liked because I did not get a seat next to a window. I had to sit in a seat on the outside. One thing I noticed is that a lot of the Amfleet Is and Amfleet II Coaches are getting.electronic LED signs which keep riders advised of up coming stops. . I believe that P42DC has a great sounding horn. We can hear the horn as the train is crossing Maxon Street. You can hear me say: "Just went arcoss Maxon Road." After we go across the Mohawk ...

Highlights from ~ Amtrak Train 95 and 66 From Providence RI to Richmond VA and back
We took the 6:55 AM Amtrak Train 95 Northeast Regional from Providence Rhode Island to Staples Mills Road in Richmond Virginia on September 26, 2011. I really enjoyed the Train ride down. The train was very comfortable to ride on. We traveled through Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC then into Virginia. It was really fun to see all the different places. The Train arrived 20 minutes late. Which wasn't bad. We took the 6:35 PM Amtrak Train 66 Northeast Regional from Staples Mills Road, Richmond Virginia to Providence Rhode Island on September 27, 2011. The Train was one hour late due to a storm that passed through Richmond. I have never seen so much rain come down in such a short amount of time. There was also tons of very close Thunder and Lightening. The train was delayed due to track flooding. We departed Staples Mill Road Virginia at 7:30 PM. It was suppose to be shy of a 13 hour train ride. I didn't like the nighttime train ride. Next time I schedule a train ride it will be during the daytime. You could see some city lights through out the Train Ride and at times it was complete darkness as you passed through woodlands and farm fields. The part I did not like about this train ride was,, when the Train got to Washington DC.. they shut the train off and opened the doors. Amtrak Train Empire Builder Roomette/Sleeper room Tour and Review
On a recent trip on an amtrak train, I stayed in a roomette sleeper on the trip from whitefish montana to chicago illinois, and thought I would do a review of the room for folks. The sleeper room is actually nice though quite small. The empire builder was actually a pretty decent train to ride on. Got a great view of the glacier national park so that was nice. You can also get a family room if you have more people traveling with you or you need more space. Each car has a service attendant who is there to serve you during your trip which is really nice. When you get a sleeper, your meals are included in the price. I also traveled on the city of new orleans and the sleepers were basically the same on that train.
